The London JV football Red Raiders hosted the Urbana Hillclimbers Saturday morning and came out on the short end of a 16-0 decision.
With the game locked in a scoreless tie in the fourth quarter, a London turnover gave Urbana a short field, and the ‘Climbers scored at the 4:37 mark to take an 8-0 lead. London’s ensuing drive crossed into Urbana territory, but stalled when the Red was intercepted. Urbana returned the interception to the London 11-yard line, from there Urbana scored two plays later to make the final tally 16-0.
The defense was good for both teams, as neither team was able to amass over 90 total yards of offense.
London’s Nick Schooley completed seven passes for 69 yards, all of which were hauled in by Jalen Russell.
Jermiah Thurman with six tackles and Garrett Warner with five tackles led the London defense.
London’s JV’s next game is Saturday, Sept. 5 at Greenon High School, kickoff is slated for 10 a.m.
