Katie Fisher Scholarship Golf Scramble returns

The Katie Fisher Scholarship Foundation will be hosting the 19th annual Katie Fisher Madison-Plains FFA Scholarship Golf Scramble on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Locust Hills Golf Course, 5575 N. River Road, Springfield.

Shotgun start 8 a.m. tee time only. This is an 18-hole event, four-person scramble.

There will be 36 teams with a cost of $220 per team.

There will be prizes for top team and worst team. There will be a hole-in-one contest at various holes.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Beer is not sold at the course. One small six pack cooler is allowed.

Wear soft spikes only.

All entries must be received by Friday, Aug. 14.

Katie Fisher was diagnosed with Burkett’s Lymphoma in 1995. She lost her battle that same year. To keep her memory alive her family created a scholarship to help further the educational opportunities for young people in Madison-Plains FFA.

This golf scramble, along with outside donations, helps keep the scholarship going and will continue for years to come.
