A Columbus duo are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after their pickup truck wrecked following a high-speed chase, according to London police.
The London Police Department received a call at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday from employees at the London Walmart, 375 Lafayette St., to report a couple had been involved with an alleged theft and were fleeing the scene.
Patrick Henry, 45, and Ebony Coley, 29, allegedly took thousands of dollars of merchandise from the store. Police are declining to reveal specifically what items were taken.
The couple packed the items into a Ford pick-up truck and fled the store, and drove at a high rate of speed northeast on U.S. Route 42 with London police in pursuit.
The suspects turned east onto Spring Valley Road and crashed the vehicle just before reaching the intersection with State Route 665. Police said the driver, Henry, lost control of the truck, and struck a pole.
Both he and his passenger were transported to a Columbus hospital via medical helicopter.
Henry is wanted on several warrants from other states, according to police.
The theft and crash remain under investigation.
