Fourth of July festivities this weekend

Festivals and fireworks are lined up this weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July in Madison County.

West Jefferson

West Jefferson’s Streetfest will take place this weekend, beginning on Thursday.

The festival will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday in downtown West Jefferson.

The parade in West Jefferson will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday. Entertainment throughout the weekend will include The Alexander Band, The Union Highway Band, The Victory Express Gospel Band and The Posse Band.


London’s fireworks presentation will take place about 10 p.m. on Friday at London High School.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, stepping off at Park Avenue, and ending on Walnut Street. The Downtown London Association will hold a free hot dog cookout at noon following the parade, which will feature live music.

Plain City

Plain City’s parade will begin at 3 p.m. downtown Saturday. Fireworks will be held at 9:45 p.m. at Pastime Park in the village.

A pool party will also take place at the Plain City Aquatic Center (pool) from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance to attend.
