The Madison Health Foundation is pleased to participate in the Big Give, a one-day event hosted by the Columbus Foundation which serves nonprofit organizations in Central Ohio.
The Big Give is fueled by the Giving Store, the Columbus Foundation’s online marketplace of more than 900 nonprofits from a 10 county region. These nonprofits have created directory listings to help donors connect with the causes they care about. They serve a wide range of needs in their communities, including healthcare, education and the environment, just to name a few.
“We champion events like The Big Give to support the great work of our nonprofits and to show what our community can collectively accomplish through kindness,” Columbus Foundation CEO Doug Kridler said in a press release.
The online event will take place during a 26 hour period — Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. to Wednesday, Oct. 11 at noon. The Columbus Foundation will cover all credit card fees, so 100 percent of donations go to participating nonprofits.
Everyone who gives will have their donation increased.
Donations received during the event will be amplified by Bonus Pool funds on a pro rata basis. The Columbus Foundation, its family of donors, and corporate and community partners have provided a $1.3 million Bonus Pool, encouraging everyone to support nonprofits they care about. By working together, our communities can show their kindness and support local nonprofits such as the Madison Health Foundation.
The Madison Health Foundation will dedicate donations from this year’s event to support the Building on Excellence Campaign.
“Donations to the Building on Excellence Campaign will allow Madison Health to upgrade the technology available in our Emergency Department, making state-of the-art technology available to our patients at the bedside,” said Kelly Snyder, Vice President of Development and Executive Director of the Madison Health Foundation. “The additional space allows us to better protect the patients’ privacy and comfort while they are being treated.”
It will also create a new Cancer Center which will include open, bright space for oncology treatment stations and new office space will allow Madison Health to attract additional medical specialists to the community.
“As more hospital business is shifting from inpatient to outpatient, we’re giving our patients easier access to our outpatient services,” said Dana Engle, CEO at Madison Health.
Participants donating at least $20 during the Big Give will receive a special receipt with redemption details for perks from generous Big Give partners, including a free seven inch, one topping pizza from Donatos Pizza.
Local donors are invited to redeem their pizza reward and learn more about Madison Health’s expansion and renovation project on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Donatos Pizza in London.
