Headings Grand Canyon video to air on Today Show Friday

The Headings family’s trek to the Grand Canyon has caught the eye of the Today Show.

The sons and grandsons of Bob Headings of Plain City, who is a paraplegic, carried him to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and then back up again earlier this year. The story appeared in the May 20 edition of the Madison Press. The family had a videographer record the entire event with interviews of the family members.

A three-minute segment will appear in the second hour of the Today show on Friday, June 12.

The segment will feature the interviews and video footage conducted on the adventure by videographer Jon Honaker, said Randy Headings.

Headings former classmate, Jason Perkins had connections with the show. He forwarded the footage to a Midwest representative of Today, who in turn, forwarded it to the New York bureau.

Honaker worked with them on editing.

The entire 40 minute video will be shown at 7 p.m., Monday, June 15 at the Darby Grace Brethren Church, 9899 U.S. Route 42 South, Plain City.
