London Academy to hold adult diploma program

By Dean Shipley -

Been out of high school a while and don’t have a diploma?

The London Academy (LA) offers help.

LA is seeking enrollments for its 22-plus Adult High School Diploma program, which will begin Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the academy behind the London Community Center on South Walnut Street.

Academy director Pauline Swan said the program will “assist adults 22 years of age or older, who have not earned their high school diploma or GED to earn the necessary credits to receive their high school diploma.”

She said adults essentially pick up where they left off in high school.

Some documentation is necessary for the enrollment process. They include:

• an unofficial transcript for the last high school attended

• a birth certificate

• a Social Security card

• photo ID

• proof of residence in the state of Ohio

Swan said career counseling is available.
