The Madison-Plains Board of Education on Tuesday approved raises for administrative and exempt employees of the district.

Superintendent Tim Dettwiller recommended to the board that it granted to the group the same raise progression which was granted to classified employees and teachers: 1 percent the first year, and 2 percent in the second and third years of the three-year agreement.

In other business:

• The firm of Steed, Hammond and Paul will conduct a study at the elementary and middle school buildings for the purpose of improving vehicular traffic flow to and from that portion of the campus.

• Repairs and improvements will be made over the coming weekend to the running track at the football stadium. It had fallen into such disrepair that it was not a suitable place to host track meets, Dettwiler said.

• The athletic fund, which had been operating at a negative balance, has been pulled up to a zero balance. Dettwiller said it was due in large part to donations made to the athletic department by donors such as Stanley Hanson.

• Dettwiller announced the American Legion Post in Mount Sterling will make on Monday a donation of $1,000 to the district’s flag/flag pole project. It is being entirely funded by community donations.
