6 dead in Quebec plane crash

HAVRE-AUX-MAISONS, Quebec (AP) — A small plane has crashed killing six people in eastern Quebec.

An Ambulance technician, Benoit Leblanc, said Tuesday six people have died. He said a seventh person has suffered cardiac problems.

The plane was a Mitsubishi turboprop and is believed to have belonged to a private company.

The plane appears to have crashed short of a runway in the Iles-de-la-Madeleine just off eastern Quebec. The cause is not immediately known.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is deploying a team of investigators.
