Object thrown at NYPD patrol car, bomb squad called

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Police Department bomb squad was called in after police say someone threw a suspicious object at a patrol car.

Officials say someone in another vehicle threw the object at the patrol car at a busy midtown Manhattan intersection around midnight Wednesday. The other vehicle fled the scene.

Streets in the area were shut down as police investigated.

The bomb squad gave the all-clear a short time later.

Police have not yet said what exactly was thrown.

The investigation is ongoing.
