BEIRUT (AP) — Activists and a doctor say a prominent Syrian opposition media activist and his colleague were seriously wounded when an explosive device went off outside their residence in the northern city of Aleppo.
The head of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdurrahman, and a doctor familiar with the condition of Hadi Abdullah said Friday the activists were hit by an explosion a day earlier.
The doctor says Abdullah and his cameraman Khalid AlEissa were transported to Turkey for treatment. He says Abdullah suffered injuries to his lower limbs and AlEissa to his head and stomach. The doctor spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.
Abdullah has been documenting Syria’s war, traveling with rebels and reporting on some of the fiercest battles.
