LOS ANGELES (AP) — A longtime friend and business partner of Ronnie Claire Edwards, who played Corabeth Godsey on “The Waltons,” says the actress has died. She was 83.
Edwards died Tuesday at her Dallas home, said Marty Van Kleeck, who was at her side.
The cause of death was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Van Kleeck said Thursday.
Edwards joined “The Waltons” in 1974 as Corabeth Walton, snobbish cousin to John Walton Sr., played by Ralph Waite. She married grocer Ike Godsey on the CBS family drama, which was set in the blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in the 1930s and ’40s.
