COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Danish police say a former justice minister received a punch in the face during an outdoor showing of a European Championship game on a large screen.
Copenhagen Police spokesman Ove Larsen says Morten Boedskov was with two friends Tuesday evening when a man walked up to him and asked him questions before hitting him, leaving “a reddish spot” on his face.
Larsen said Wednesday no one has been arrested. The case is being investigated as violence against a public person, carrying a fine or a maximum prison sentence of eight years.
Mette Frederiksen, head of the opposition Social Democratic Party of which Boedskov is a member, said it was “politically motivated.” He was justice minister from 2011 to 2013.
