Madison County high school track and field teams are still a few weeks away from the beginning of the postseason, but area athletes are getting things done this spring.

The Mid-State League Ohio Division championship meet will be held at London High School May 10 and May 13. The host Red Raiders will be there as will county neighbors Madison-Plains and West Jefferson.

The Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Red Division championship meet which Jonathan Alder will be held May 10 and May 12.

A couple of county track athletes find themselves among the best in Central Ohio. London’s Michael Johnson has a long jump distance of 20-feet, 2-inches which puts him among the better jumpers in the area, but it’s his season best 10.9 in the 100-meter dash and his 22.5 in the 200 which have people talking.

On the girls side, Jonathan Alder’s state qualifier Aziza Ayoub has been solid. She currently boasts a season-best time of 12.82 in the 100 and her time of 58.17 in the 400 is the third fastest time run in Central Ohio this spring. She also has a time of 2:26.45 in the 800.
