It was a tall task to ask of a team that entered the Division II district tournament basketball game with just four wins.

Twenty-fourth seed London (4-16) traveled to play at No. 4 DeSales Thursday, Feb. 25, needing a lot of things to go right. After a 5-1 lead early in the first quarter not much went well for the Red Raiders as they fell 78-47, bringing an end to their season.

The host Stallions (18-6) went on a 25-2 run to close out the first quarter and never looked back. DeSales outscored London 21-16 in the second quarter and led comfortably 47-23 at the half.

London was led in scoring by Darius Davis (15 points) and Kamhar Jones (13). Grant Brooks added nine points, while K.J. Price and Jake Andrich both finished with five points.

Caden Sanchez had 15 points and Eric Fitz chipped in 14 to lead the Stallions. With the win DeSales advances to a D-II district semifinal where it will play either No. 7 Jonathan Alder or No. 9 Bishop Hartley Tuesday, March 1.

Alder and Hartley will square off Saturday, Feb. 27, at Alder. Game time is scheduled to tip at 7 p.m.
