The Madison-Plains junior high football welcomed the Bexley Lions Monday, Sept. 28 and defeated them 25-6.
The Lions struggled to contain the speed of the Eagles and Madison-Plains went into halftime with a 19-0 lead.
Michael Collins was the star of the game rushing for two touchdowns, returning a punt for a touchdown, and hauling in a touchdown pass from quarterback Jarrett Vallery. The Golden Eagles defense maintained a shutout until late in the fourth quarter.
The game featured a mix of both seventh and eighth graders from each team. The Eagles will travel to Columbus Academy on Monday, Oct. 5, in hopes of improving upon their 3-2 record.
