The London JV football team traveled to Unioto High School Saturday, Sept. 15, and took a 16-8 victory from the Sherman Tanks.

Unioto took the opening kickoff and drove the length of the field to take an 8-0 lead. The teams battled on even terms the rest of the half.

London took the second half kickoff and returned the favor with a 66-yard drive capped off with Logan Minner’s 13-yard touchdown run. A pass from Logan Minner to Ethan Minner added the 2-point conversion, and the game was knotted at 8-8.

On London’s second possession of the half Logan Minner hit Khaleb Comer with a 5-yard pass, and Comer took it 54 more yards to the house. Logan Minner ran in the 2-point try, and London led 16-8.

With less than :10 left in the game, the Tanks were on London’s 20-yard line, but two passes fell incomplete and the Red Raiders had the win.

Caleb Sollars was the Red’s leading rusher with 68 yards on 11 carries. Logan Minner had five completions for 111 yards. Jackson Jones had two catches for 34 yards, and Comer’s 59-yard catch was the highlight.

Richie Geib led the Raiders with seven tackles, and Kaleb Goodwin and Saif Ullah each had four stops. Noah McClintock, Colton Cleaver, Darian Huff and Joey Dulin chipped in with three tackles apiece.

London JV is now 3-0 on the year, and plays Circleville at home Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
