Day adds academic honor

Ohio Wesleyan’s Ashley Day was recently named to the North Coast Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll. The Jonathan Alder High School graduate was also a first team All-NCAC selection.

A total of 73 Ohio Wesleyan University student-athletes were named to the North Coast Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the NCAC.

One of those student-athletes was Jonathan Alder graduate and Bishops junior softball standout Ashley Day.

To be named to the NCAC Academic Honor Roll, one must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the conference and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. A total of 690 student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

On the field day was a first team All-NCAC selection this spring.

Day batted .364 with 12 RBI and shared the team lead with 15 stolen bases this season. She was tied for third in the NCAC in stolen bases, tied for seventh in on-base percentage, and ranked 13th in batting average. Day was a second-team All-NCAC pick in 2016.
