The Elite Volleyball Training Center 17U Black team recently won the 17u AAU Junior National Championship in a tournament held in Florida.

Integrity Athletics’ volleyball program, Elite Volleyball Training Center (Plain City, Ohio), returned home June 22, from the 44th AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, Fla. as National Champion.

With 2,400 teams registered and an expected 40,000 spectators, 9,000 coaches, and 500 college coaches, AAU Nationals has been the Guinness Book of World Records ‘world’s largest volleyball event’ for the past 4 years. Elite Volleyball Training Center is based out of Integrity Athletics, a multi-sport facility in Plain City.

The Elite VBTC 17U Black team finished first in the 17U Premier divisions with a perfect 13-0 record, dropping just four sets throughout the entire tournament. In the National Championship match, Elite claimed the title after defeating MVA 17U Black in three sets (16-25, 25-18, 15-8).

Not only was 17U Black crowned National Champions; Paige Jones was named MVP of the Tournament. The following athletes were awarded to the All-Star Team, Dana Axner, committed to play for Florida Gulf Coast University, Paige Jones committed to play for the University of Michigan and Rachel Pierce committed to play for the University of Toledo.

“We had a great weekend. We have 11 girls on our roster and every single one of them contributed through the week and contributed to our success,” Head Coach and Co-Club Director, Randy Cline, said. “I’ve had this team for two years, so it’s been great watching them grow. We were tested at times, but we were playing some superb volleyball that just got better throughout the weekend.”
