His college playing career is coming to an end, but there’s no need to feel bad for Dalton Greenwalt.

The Urbana University pitcher and West Jefferson High School graduate will trade in his cleats for a cap and gown and graduate with honors Saturday, May 6.

Greenwalt played a signifcant role on the Blue Knights roster the last four years as a starting pitcher.

In the past couple summers he played for the Battle Creek (Michigan) Bombers of the Northwoods League as well as for the Champion City Kings in Springfield (Ohio), a member of the Prospect League.

The Northwoods League and the Prospect League are collegiate summer baseball leagues comprised teams of the top college players from across the country. All players in the league must still have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate. Players are not paid, so they can maintain their college eligibility.

After graduation he hopes to continue his playing career, playing independent league baseball.
