The season ended a couple weeks ago for the Jonathan Alder High School lacrosse team, but the Pioneers are still being recognized for their efforts on the field.
The Ohio High School Lacrosse Coaches Association recently named its all-region team and a trio of Alder players picked up postseason honors.
Greg Bowman, a long stick midfielder, was selected Division II second team All-Region. While Broderick Besinger, the school’s standout goalie, and Andrew Miller a reliable midfielder were both tabbed as a Honorable Mention All-Region honorees. All three players just finished up their senior seasons at Alder.
The Pioneers finished the 2016 season with an 8-4 record, the school’s best ever. Under coach Rob Davis the Pioneers have steadily built up their program. The team will have to find a way to replace the 12 seniors who made up nearly half of the roster.
