Safety expo this weekend

Local youth will get the chance to meet local law enforcement and check out some real-life helicopters at the 13th annual Madison County Safety Expo this Saturday.The free event is hosted by Madison County Emergency Medical District, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Madison County Fairgrounds.Roger Roberts, director of the Madison County Emergency Management Agency, said about 500 people attend the expo. About 300 to 400 of them are youth.“Every year it gets bigger and bigger,” Roberts said.Emergency vehicles will be on site for local youth to explore, as well as life flight and care flight helicopters. Firefighters and other law enforcement will also speak to attendees.
