Murder suspect shoots himself during standoff

Following an overnight standoff with authorities at the Econo Lodge at the I-71/U.S. 35 intersection in Fayette County, a man wanted for murder in Hocking County attempted to take his own life Monday morning inside of the motel room by shooting himself in the head.

Man dies after going overboard at Deer Creek

A 53-year-old man fishing on the lake at Deer Creek State Park died Monday afternoon of an apparent medical condition after bystanders said he fell overboard his boat.The man was apparently fishing alone in a fiberglass boat when a 911 call was placed, according to Eileen Corson, spokesperson for Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
