Just like how the football teams at higher levels go through a series of preseason scrimmages to get themselves ready for the regular season, teams at London Middle School are prepping for their openers.
The London Middle School Seventh Grade football team hosted Washington Court House on Monday, Aug. 18, at vonKanel Field and the Raiders edged out the visiting Lions one score to none.
The London offense was paced by Triston Meddock who had 40 yards on two carries, one of which went for a 39-yard touchdown, the game’s only score. Eli North also carried 6 times for 29 yards. The Red Raiders defense was led by Juane Gardner who had five tackles, along with Colton Cleaver and Meddock who had four tackles each. Meddock also recovered two Washington fumbles.
The London Middle School Eighth Grade team did not score, while Washington racked up a pair of scores.
Bricker Thiel rushed for 25 yards on five carries to pace the Red. Thiel also had five tackles to pace the defense. Julian Leilous and Dylan Crawford each had four tackles in the game.
The two teams open their regular season on Monday, Aug. 25, at Buckeye Valley Middle School.
