The fourth grade St. Patrick boys basketball team continued its winning ways by beating host St. Anthony by the score of 24-14 on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The Irish took a 18-3 lead at the half and cruised the rest of the way. After going three-of-17 the previous game from the free throw line, the Irish improved to six-for-11.
Isaiah Jones led with 12 points and nine rebounds. Other scorers included Caleb Cline (six), Cheney Gross (three points and 11 rebounds), Reid Gates (two points and 11 rebounds) and Gabe White (one point). The Irish prepare to take on St. Mattias for possession of first place.
St. Patrick eighth grade boys took on a tough Columbus St. Mary squad and lost 51-16. Brandon Todd led the scoring for the Irish with 10 points. He was followed by Clay Cutteridge who finished with four and Devon Harris with two. Ian Rikard, Riley Elliot and Troy McFarland contributed on the defensive end.
