The Ohio High School Football Coaches Association announced its Academic All-Ohio Individual Football Team Tuesday, Jan. 7.
London High School head coach Jerry Wasserman had two of his seniors players honored. Lineman Clayton Geib (6-3, 240 pounds) and tight end/defensive back Zach Newman (5-11, 165) were named to the 99-player team consisting of players from the seven high school football divisions from across the state of Ohio.
In order to qualify for the team, players must have been named to an All- County, All-League or All-District football team, maintained at least a 3.6 grade-point average and been nominated by their head coach.
Geib was a first team Division IV All-Central District offensive line selection, while Newman was a first-team All-District tight end. The two Red Raiders standouts were the only two football players from Madison County to garner the Academic All-Ohio honor.
