The Plain City Presbyterian Church has been selected to become the third member of a Columbus-based food bank program, announced the United Community Food Banks of Ohio.
“If you know someone who could use a helping hand, please tell them about the new food distribution site right here in Plain City,” said church member Barbra George said. “Our food will include bread, milk, vegetables, canned and boxed goods, cakes, pies and fruit. All food is free and the program is open to everyone as we ‘Give God’s Food, To God’s People, In God’s House.’”
Pastor Bob Abrams of the Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hilliard welcomed the church.
“Having the privilege of living out the Golden Rule through giving food to those in need is a blessing,” he said. “Not just for those who receive it, but for those who give it. I pray for every success for our sisters and brothers in Plain City in this new ministry.”
Pastor Frank Lee from Parkside Community Church in Hilliard offered his congratulations to the Plain City congregation on their selection, “The deciding factor was the tremendous desire of their congregation to serve others, after the first 20 minutes we knew this was the right choice.”
Food distribution will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5 and every Saturday at the Plain City Presbyterian Church, 231 E. Main St., Plain City.
