Troopers from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol have confiscated $5,500 in crack cocaine and arrested two Portsmouth women, charging them with felonies in the process.

Helen Johnson, 33, and Katelyn Rayburn, 21, were charged with possession of crack cocaine after a stop by authorities.

A 2008 BMW was stopped by troopers from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol on U.S. 23 in Lucasville for traffic violations. Troopers said criminal indicators were present and a search revealed one gram of Crack Cocaine in the vehicle and 54 grams of Crack Cocaine on one of the occupants. The crack cocaine has, according to troopers, a street value of $5,500.

Johnson and Rayburn were incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail.
