Weldi receives


Carmon Alexis Weldi, of Plain City, is the recipient of an academic scholarship from Lebanon Valley College. Weldi has been admitted to The Valley for the fall 2014 semester. She intends to pursue a major in health science,

Among the incoming class of 448 students, 63 percent rank in the top 30 percent of their high school class; 12 students were valedictorians; 52 percent of students earned a scholarship worth half-tuition; and five students received the full-tuition Allwein Scholarship.

Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., welcomes 1,600 full-time undergraduates studying more than 30 challenging and sophisticated majors, as well as customized self-designed majors.

Renne awarded


Fidelia Renne, of Milford Center, was awarded the Bud Kellstedt Scholarship by the Politics and International Relations Department at Wheaton College in Illinois.

The Bud Kellstedt Scholarship is awarded to a sophomore student with a strong academic record who has demonstrated interest in the intersection of religion and politics and has shown outstanding promise in the field of political science.

Renne was recognized as a scholarship recipient at Wheaton College’s Honors Convocation.

Homoelle named

to dean’s list

Alissa Homoelle, of Mount Sterling, was named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University during the spring 2014 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4 grading scale.

Olivet Nazarene University is an accredited Christian, liberal arts university offering more than 100 areas of undergraduate and graduate study, including the Doctor of Education in ethical leadership.
