A host of volunteers of the London Public Library along with library staff and board members marked the ceremonial reopening of the library with a ribbon cutting on Monday, April 14.

The auspicious moment took place just before a tour of the newly renovated facility. The ribbon cutting was part of a special gathering, as the library hosted a dinner banquet in honor of the volunteer’s service to the organization and community over the last year.

Later in the evening, Ruth Gorman, outreach coordinator, presented the volunteer members with awards and mementos, as well as many accolades.

“Our volunteers are invaluable to the life of the library, said Gorman. “They are the oil that keeps the wheels turning, accomplishing many behind-the-scene tasks. They’re priceless.”

The library is located at 20 E. First St. in London and online at www.mylondonlibrary.org. Those interested in volunteer opportunities at the library should contact Ruth Gorman at (740) 852-9543.
