Davis has been a jack-of-all-trades in the community, serving as president of the Madison County Historical Society, a member of the Rotary Club, American Legion, VFW, Head of the Madison County Democratic Association, and figure in the London School District.

He received a Bachelors of Arts in Education and a Masters of School Administration from Wittenberg University and is a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
