All tails were wagging Friday morning as the dog show began in the Della Selsor building at the Madison County Fair. More than 15 competitors entered the competition in the hopes that their furry canine would take first place.

Contestants had the opportunity to enter five different categories during the show including Showmanship, Obedience, and All About Dogs.

The judge for the show was Penny Smith.

The first event was Showmanship and the judge was scoring on how well the dog was stacked, how the handler showed respect to other exhibitors, and how well the handlers follow their specified pattern.

There were many winners in the Obedience portion of the show which contained four different classes: Pre Novice, Novice A, Beginner Novice A, and Beginner Novice B.

The overall Showman of Showmen for the dog show was Hope Fetherolf with her husky Lucy.
