The Madison County Republican Women’s Club (MCRWC) held a meeting July 22 to initiate plans for the annual Octoberfest.
The event will be held at the new Eby Arena at the Madison County Fairgrounds on Thursday, Oct. 2. Octoberfest is a joint venture of the Madison County Republican Central Commitee (MCRCC) and the MCRWC, along with many generous donors from the community.
Featured speakers will be Congressman Steve Stivers, representing Ohio’s 15th congressional district, and State Auditor Dave Yost. Many local officials and candidates will also be in attendance.
“This is a great opportunity to come out and meet those you have elected, and those who are campaigning for election this November,” a spokesperson said.
This event will recognize the Armed Forces and will include a special drawing for door prizes given to both current and ex-military personnel in attendance. A $1,500 raffle drawing will also be held.
Entertainment includes The Posse Band, a live and silent auction, a children’s entertainment area with pumpkin decorating, games and prizes. Food and beverages are provided free of charge.
The Octoberfest is open to the public. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m.
More information will be forthcoming as the plans progress.
Tickets are being sold now by both MCRCC and MCRWC members.
