The 31st annual Tatman Reunion was held Saturday, July 19, at Goshen Memorial Park in Mechanicsburg.


Ninety-four family members and guests enjoyed the beautiful day. (A little on the cool side for some and some rain sprinkles.) Family members enjoyed a variety of activities: the White Elephant Switch-a-roo, bubble gum blowing contest and the ever popular water balloon toss.


Mark Tyo gave the blessing for the bountiful meal.


They enjoyed a bird theme this year. Decorations were seagulls, parrots and other bird pictures and figurines. Christie Rickmon won the best decorated cake with the bird theme. The invitation incorporated bird sayings in rhyme and was written by Elyta Manns.


Henry and Dolly Belle Seitz Tatman were married in September 1886. Henry and Dolly had 10 children who lived to marry and have children. They were: William, Elma, Clayton, Stella, Emza, Charley, Lester, Dema Esther, Addie and Albert. Five of the 10 siblings had family members in attendance at this year’s reunion.


Representing Clayton and Fannie Tatman were: John Pierce and Gene Pierce, Charlie, Ruthie, Hannah and Autumn Johnson of London.


Representing Herman and Stella Dillion were: Norman Puckett and Donna Hoover of London.


Representing Charley and Ethel Tatman were: Eva Fraley, Bev Sanford, Ethel Collier, David Fraley of Mechanicsburg; Joshua, Alessa and Nolan Fraley of West Jefferson; and Nellie Tatman of Springfield.


Representing Lester and Velma Tatman was Dennie Tatman of Mechanicsburg.


Representing Grover Cleveland and Dema Esther Bussey were: Lois Earles, Gene and Marilyn Bussey, Raymond, Debbie and Amanda Bussey, Ruth Bussey, Kathy Samson, Marie Ferguson, James Bussey, Louann Murray, Corey Samson, Chris, April, and Courtney LeMaster, Sarah Burton, Lavonda Long, Jordan Long and Jacob Long, Jamie, BJ, Cerstin and RJ Parsons of London; Bill Bussey, Paul Bussey, Tony, Patty, Drew, Anthony and Sean Bussey, Eric, Missi, Carter, Lilly and Jebediah Bussey of South Solon; John and Patty Finney, Jean Bussey, David and Arlene Morrow of South Charleston; Andy and Barb Earles of Galloway; Oliver and Melissa Jones of South Vienna; Elyta Manns of Mount Sterling; Tiffany, Audrey and Lily Jones, Jeremy Earles, Alex and Mason LeMaster and Stephanie Roberts of West Jefferson; Elsie Windle, Jim and Brenda Windle, Terry and Christie Rickmon of Fletcher; Jason and Heather Barnett of Conover; Nate, Rebecca, Addison and Nadia Mohler of Springfield; Mark, Joy, Jonathan, Adam and Bethany Tyo of Dresden; John Finney Jr. and Tammy of Tipp City; Paula Bussey of Fayetteville; Jason Earles of Reynoldsburg; Billy and Teresa Bussey of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; and Linnie Montgomery of Hazel Green, Kentucky.


Guests were: Jim Herron of Mechanicsburg and Ron Green of Urbana.


Birth reported was Lily Jones, daughter of Patrick and Tiffany Jones, granddaughter of Oliver and Melissa Jones, great-granddaughter of Lois Earles and the late Charles Earles, great-great-granddaughter of the late Grover and Esther Bussey.


The date for next year’s reunion will be Saturday, July 18, at Goshen Memorial Park.
