The West Jefferson Homemakers met at the home of Connie Little for their July meeting. Attending were Irene Yates, Liz Harper, Joanne Thomas, Blair Wooddell, Wanda Parks, Sue McDowell, Nancy McNabb and Joann Feen.
Liz Harper, president, led everyone with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and the Homemaker’s Creed.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and the treasurers report was given by Wanda Parks. A vote was taken for possible donations. The group voted to give a donation to the H.E.L.P. House, Lifepointe, the food pantry and the USO. A possible trip to the Military Museum in September is scheduled.
Devotions were given by Parks regarding forgiveness. We are all forgiven as per Colossians 3:12-17. In Touch by Charles Stanley says forgiveness is freely given and should be passed on to others.
Parks also shared from the “Daily Guide Post” events of World War II and Elizabeth Sherill’s thoughts on forgiveness and God’s Love.
Little read from “Jesus Calling” by Sara Young of Enjoying Peace in His Presence. She closed with a word of prayer.
Parks shared beautiful pictures from her trip to Hawaii and the many things she enjoyed on her vacation.
The next meeting we are asked to share individually our trips and pictures from favorite vacations.
A lovely lunch was provided by our hostess.
The August meeting will be at the home of Irene Yates.
