A London man suffered critical injuries after he was ejected when the vehicle he was driving overturned Wednesday evening in Deer Creek Township, authorities said.
Jason Boyd was transported via medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, according to the West Jefferson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
On Thursday, he was listed in stable condition, a hospital spokesperson said.
The accident took place on state Route 38, near mile post 20, at about 5:06 p.m., according to the report.
Boyd was southbound in a Jeep Wrangler when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road, the report states. The Jeep then struck a concrete culvert pipe, then striking a ditch. The vehicle overturned several times before coming to a rest in the ditch. Boyd was ejected.
There were no other vehicles involved, authorities said.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson Township EMS, Central Townships Fire, Madison County EMS and MedFlight responded to the scene.
