BIDWELL — The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who broke into one local business and attempted to break into a second in the Bidwell area recently.

Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning reported on Tuesday that deputies were dispatched at approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday morning to the Steve Evans Sausage warehouse on Ohio 850 in regard to a break-in. Reportedly, an official with the company arrived at the location and discovered that someone had pried the front door of the facility open. After searching the building, the official discovered that the freezer door had been left open and an undetermined amount of sausage had been stolen.

After further investigating the area, the deputy checked nearby businesses, including Backwoods Guns and Blodgett Dermatology.

According to the police reports, no entry was gained at Backwoods Guns, but damage was reported on a door, frame, lock and garage at the business.

At Blodgett Dermatology, the deputy discovered that a vehicle parked at that location had been damaged as one of its windows had been busted out. No further information in regard to what had been taken from the vehicle was available as of press time.

Reportedly, the break-in and attempted break-in at the businesses on Ohio 850 occurred between approximately 4:30-5:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Surveillance footage of the suspect has been obtained by the sheriff’s office, and anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspect, should contact the sheriff’s office via their tip-line at (740) 446-6555.

Further information on this case will be released as it is made available by investigators.
