Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information regarding a series of daytime burglaries in the Plain City and West Jefferson areas, according to a crime alert.

Burglars struck twice on May 25. Nothing was reported missing from a home on Middle Pike near West Jefferson, although someone entered the house that day through a rear window opening.

A second break-in occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at a home on U.S. Route 42, also near West Jefferson. Again, burglars broke a rear window to enter the home. A small ATV, two televisions and jewelry were reported missing.

An African-American man driving a gray or blue mini-van was spotted in the driveway. Witnesses also reported a white van with red lettering in the area.

A third burglary occurred about 9:30 a.m. on May 26 at a home on Plain City-Georgesville Road near Plain City. A jar of coins was reported missing and a generator was moved outside.

A blue two-toned mini-van was seen leaving the address with a thin, white female in the passenger seat.

Anyone with information about these or similar incidents should call the sheriff’s office at (740) 852-1212 to speak with Sgt. Chris Carter.
