Six individuals, some allegedly in possession of narcotics and drug abuse instruments, were found Friday when four local law enforcement agencies combined to serve a search warrant at a Hillsboro apartment.
The Hillsboro Police Department said that on Friday, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, officers from the Hillsboro Police Department assisted by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, and Greenfield and Leesburg police departments, executed a search warrant in the apartment complex located in the 1100 block of Northview Drive, in Hillsboro. Upon a search of the property, officers found six individuals, some of which were in the possession of narcotics and drug abuse instruments, the police department said.
Officers said they seized more than 100 individual capsules of heroin, numerous syringes, pills and other drug paraphernalia, as well as numerous Ohio Direction/Ohio EBT cards, and cash.
The narcotic items will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in London for analysis. Upon receiving BCI results the case will be forwarded to the Highland County prosecutor for review for an upcoming grand jury.
The Ohio Direction/Ohio EBT cards will be forwarded to an investigator with Highland County Job and Family Services in reference to welfare fraud.
