U.S. Bank, through the U.S. Bancorp Foundation, has presented an economic opportunity grant to the Main Street Portsmouth organization for $1,000.
According to Main Street Portsmouth Director Sarah Surina, economic opportunity grants support organizations that provide affordable housing, encourage self-sufficiency, and assist economic development.
“U.S. Bancorp Foundation support will help fund the ongoing services that Main Street Portsmouth offers including empowering local property owners and businesses owners within the downtown area,” Surina said. “Main Street Portsmouth will also continue providing services and incentives such as downtown promotional events, beatification efforts, workshops and collaborative opportunities in the efforts of revitalizing the greater downtown Portsmouth area,”
U.S. Bank, a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp, said the U.S. Bancorp Foundation contributes to the strength and vitality of local communities through partnerships that improve the educational and economic opportunities of low- and moderate-income individuals and families and enhance the cultural and artistic life of the communities in which U.S. Bancorp operates.
