An incinerator fire at Stanley Electric, Inc., 420 E. High St., London, forced the evacuation of all employees just after noon on Saturday.

A report said city firefighters arrived at the plant at 12:42 p.m. to find an incinerator in a rear delivery area ablaze. They extinguished the flames, then worked with a company engineer to make sure the structure was safe.

An employee noticed the fire and pulled an alarm about 12:38 p.m., according to fire chief Todd Eades.

About 60 employees remained outside while firefighters inspected the building for the spread of heat or flames.

No one was injured and cause of the fire remains undetermined, a report said.

In addition to London, firefighters from Tri-County, Jefferson Township and Central Townships responded to the scene, Eades said.

All companies cleared the area at 1:53 p.m.

Representatives from Stanley Electric did not immediately return a call for comment.
