Tickets are still available for the 2014 American Red Cross Hometown Heroes Breakfast.
The American Red Cross of Scioto Valley will be selling tickets for the event, now in its ninth year, until Thursday, June 12.
This year’s local heroes selected by the executive panel are:
• Adult Hero: Alice Kennedy
• Education Heroes: Sue Hostetler and Diane Self
• Lifetime Achievement: Loretta Weimer
• Workplace Hero: Brenda McNeal
• Board of Director Award: Lucas and Jolinda Gutierrez
The community was invited to nominate residents of Madison County who have gone above and beyond to help positively impact lives in their neighborhoods.
The breakfast will take place from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at the St. Patrick Elementary School gymnasium, 226 Elm St., London. Steve Lelonek from Huntington Bank will serve as the event’s emcee.
The breakfast also serves as a key fundraiser for the American Red Cross in Madison County, which in the past year has responded to 15 local disasters providing more than $5,000 in disaster relief serving 46 individuals.
Individual tickets may be purchased for $20 each online at www.redcross.org/SciotoValley or via phone by calling (740) 845-9939. Payment may also be sent to American Red Cross, 271 Elm St., London, OH 43140. Tables seating eight are also available for $250. Tickets include breakfast.
