Mid-Ohio Classic Scooter Club members gathered for their annual meet Thursday through Saturday in Plain City’s Pastime Park. While many colorful machines could be spotted loping around the wooded park, pedestrian onlookers were few. “Rain,” came the simple reason therefore from member Tom Losekamp. Left, Jim Bennett a long-time scooter afficionado sits astride a Cushman Silver Eagle similar to one he has in his collection in Irwin. Center, club President Paul Gerhardt of Enon, used a customized Cushman Silver Eagle, equipped with a more powerful Briggs & Stratton engine and a flashy green paint job to move around the grounds. Right, Noel Renner of Troy brought his 1946 Salsbury scooter, the one he bought as a basket case at age 13. He restored it a never let go. He chose the brand because on his Cushman, he always trailed his brother who rode a Salsbury, which was built in California.
