Three New Vienna residents were indicted by a Clinton County grand jury on drug charges after an active methamphetamine lab was reportedly discovered in a raid by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the New Vienna Police Department.

Dawn M. Conley, 42, and Nathaniel M. Chamblin, 20, both of 216 Elm St., New Vienna, were both indicted for illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, illegal manufacture of drugs, endangering children, and possessing criminal tools, said Sgt. Doug Eastes, a detective with the sheriff’s office.

Also indicted in the same case was Kaylea N. Burdette, 23, of 53 College St., New Vienna. She was charged for attempted tampering with evidence and possession of drug abuse instruments.

The indictments were the result of a search warrant being served at the Elm Street residence of Conley and Chamblin.

“They were cooking methamphetamine when a juvenile was present,” Eastes said.

Finished methamphetamine was also found inside the residence, along with a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia, Eastes said.

A fire truck from the Clinton-Highland Joint Fire District stood by at the scene while Eastes took down and neutralized the methamphetamine lab.

During a recent grand jury, which met in Clinton County Common Pleas Court, 10 persons were indicted on 22 charges, including Harry D. Guisinger II, of 7121 Cathy Road, Hillsboro, for possession of heroin and possession of drugs.
