A Delaware man was charged with felony drug possession, following a traffic stop in London on Saturday, April 26.
Michael Anthony Garrett II, 28, 2225 Dates St., was arraigned in Madison County Municipal Court on Monday and released on a signature bond.
Judge Eric M. Schooley set a preliminary hearing for Friday, May 2.
Reports of suspected drug activity on London’s southeast side put extra police officers and sheriff’s deputies on the streets for the weekend.
Garrett was behind the wheel of a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt about 9 p.m. when he allegedly failed to signal a turn at the intersection of Maple and Center streets.
Officer Mike Combs and Deputy Nick Lisska stopped the Cobalt and found Garrett was driving with a suspended license.
They searched Garrett and the vehicle and seized six grams of suspected cocaine, marijuana, scales and $675 in cash, according to Sheriff Jim Sabin.
All suspected drugs were forwarded to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for analyses.
Additional charges are pending, Sabin said.
