Update: 5-year-old airlifted with serious injuries

Updated 11 a.m. Saturday: According to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, three pickup trucks were involved in an accident on SR 73 near Peebles shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to WLWT, Channel 5.
 
According to the report, Mark Maxwell, 52, was driving a Ford pickup traveling westbound on State Route 73, and Jason Lute, 30, of McDermott, and Chris Thompson, 36, were both driving pickup trucks traveling eastbound on the road.
 
The preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle driven by Maxwell drove left of center and struck the vehicles operated by Lute and Thompson.
 
Troopers said as many as 10 people may have been injured in the crash, according to Channel 5.
 
A 5-year-old was airlifted to Children's Hospital and Mildred Thompson, 28, was airlifted to UC Medical Center with serious injuries. Maxwell was also airlifted to UC Medical Center.
 
Officials said the other occupants of the vehicles were transported to Adams County Regional Medical Center for treatment.
 
All three vehicles sustained substantial damage as a result of the impact, according to the report.
 
The crash remains under investigation.
