Hope for good weather.

If the weather is good for December—meaning cold, but no precipitation—a horse drawn wagon ride could be just the way to ride into the holiday season. Bill Hunt, who owns a draft-horse and wagon rig, will bring it Sunday afternoon, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. to the Mt. Sterling Community Center’s fourth annual Christmas in the Village.

It will be one of the numerous holiday activities to celebrate the coming of Christmas. Among others are:

• Photos, not only with Santa Claus and his Mrs., but also for those who want to don turn-of-the-century (19th to 20th) apparel, the latter which will be taken by the Mt. Sterling museum.

• For youngsters, a Christmas craft activity and story-telling by staff members of the Mt. Sterling Public Library.

• An opportunity to write letters and Christmas to veterans, who are hospitalized in VA facilities

• Silent auction of a Christmas quilt, created by the Sew Social women.

• Refreshments

• Toy shop. Director Annie Tomlinson said it will have items priced form twenty-five cents to $25 and will include an array of potential Christmas gifts.
