The H.E.L.P. House’s annual school outreach program will provide backpacks to children from kindergarten to eighth grade later this summer.
The backpacks will be given out from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15. The school supplies and backpacks are due to the H.E.L.P. House, 122 E. Center St., London, by Monday, Aug. 10.
Supplies and clothing can be dropped off on Mondays from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon, and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
The organization is looking for backpacks, No. 2 pencils, 24 count crayons, large glue sticks, boxed tissues, washable markers, pocket folders, rounded scissors, pointed scissors, 12 count colored pencils, large erasers, rulers (centimeters and inches), vinyl zippered pouches, spiral bound wide-rule notebooks and plastic supply boxes.
Volunteers are needed to assist with set up for the back to school outreach event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12 and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, as well as assist with the setup, distribution and tear-down from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 15.
