Norwood celebrates Veterans Day

Norwood Elementary School in West Jefferson hosted a Veterans Day celebration at the flagpole in front of the school. Veterans and the public were invited to attend.

As part of the ceremony, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from Norwood. The Star-Spangled Banner was sung by third, fourth and fifth grade students.

Additionally, fifth grade winners of the contest, “What America Means to Me,” shared their essays.

Serving as guest speakers were Lieutenant Colonel Mitchell Gargac and Brigadier General Marie Kelly .

The 21 Gun Salute was delivered by The West Jefferson Color Guard.

Refreshments were served to the guests after the ceremony.
