Robinson recipient of scholarship

Incoming University of Rio Grande freshmen Zane Robinson from London started his school year out right. He is the recipient of the first Fraternal Order of Archon Family Scholarship.

The $1,000 award is a new scholarship administered directly by the Association and open to family of Archon alumni in good standing and attending the University of Rio Grande.

Robinson is the grandson of Bill and Madeline Holt, who also attended University of Rio Grande. Both are retired educators from the Madison-Plains School District and operate a 100-acre farm in Madison County.

Robinson is a 2017 graduate of West Jefferson High School where he played football, baseball, participated in student council and 4-H and was elected to the National Honor Society.

“I am very much looking forward to my time at Rio Grande,” Robinson said. “Rio obviously had a very positive effect on my grandparents, and I would like to experience some of that same magic.”
